Enhanced Quality Of Life!
The Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan aspires to double the size of the green and recreational spaces and areas dedicated to public parks, distributing it to serve the growing population, as well as establishing several green corridors to link the service areas, residential areas, and workplaces, facilitate the movement of pedestrians, bicycles, and sustainable mobility means across the city, in coordination with developers and government departments.
Furthermore, the land area used for hotels and tourist activities will increase by 134%, while that used for commercial activities will increase to 168 square kilometers, enhancing Dubai’s position as a global hub for innovative start-ups, international corporations, and strategic investments. The land area allocated to education and health facilities will also increase by 25%, while the length of public beaches will increase by as much as 400% in 2040, and their area will increase from 21 km to 105 km. Furthermore, the percentage of services provided on public beaches will increase by 300% by 2025.

The 20 Minutes City!
The Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan recognizes the significance of time in people’s lives and acknowledges that effectively managing and utilizing time for commuting and meeting basic needs is a crucial pillar in enhancing the quality of life and achieving happiness and contentment.
As such, the city will have integrated service centres with all the necessary facilities that allow residents to reach their destinations within a 20-minute timeframe on foot or by bicycle through facilitating sustainable pedestrian, bicycle and transportation trips across the city. The plan involves placing 55% of the residents within 800 meters of mass transit stations, allowing them to reach 80% of their daily needs and destinations.

Five Urban Centres!
The Dubai 2040 Urban Masterplan includes focusing on development and investment in five urban centers (three existing and two new centers) that support growth of economic sectors and increased job opportunities for its diverse population, in addition to providing a wide range of lifestyle facilities that cater to the needs of all sections of the population.
The existing urban centres include: Deira and Bur Dubai, historic areas that highlight the city’s historical essence and celebrate Dubai’s history while preserving its culture and heritage.
The global economic and commercial centre encompasses the Dubai International Financial Centre, Sheikh Zayed Road, as well as Downtown and Business Bay. It serves as an international business hub for economic, financial and business activity.
As for the tourism and entertainment centre, it encompasses the Dubai Marina and JBR that serves as a global destination for tourism, leisure, and hotel activity.
Lastly, the two new centres include Expo 2020 Centre, an economic and growth hotspot supported by the activities of exhibition, global events and integrated logistics services; and Dubai Silicon Oasis Centre, a knowledge and innovation international centre that attracts talents and minds, contributing to the global growth and leadership of Dubai.
